A place for letterforms
with a little life.

Grain & Glyph is an independent type foundry by Dan Coquyt, bringing handwritten and display fonts into one direct storefront.

Let the letters
do the talking.

A rounded slab serif. The uneven rhythm of a typewriter. The energy of a marker pulled across paper.

Each font has a different voice. This store gives you space to see it, type with it, and understand what belongs in the package.

A considered process.

From reference to release, in the order the work actually happens.

Step 1 of 4

Shape

Lettering references and whole-word studies establish the character of a design. The project uses an AI-assisted image-to-font workflow alongside font engineering.

Step 2 of 4

Build

Letterforms become font files, with character mapping, spacing, and supported features. Family weights are developed and reviewed together.

Step 3 of 4

Check

Character coverage, repeated letters, spacing, and rendered words are reviewed. Limitations such as caps-only coverage stay visible on the product page.

Step 4 of 4

Package

Desktop and web files are separated by licence. Each release is versioned so the product page and delivered package can agree.
