What you buy
A font licence grants the permitted use of the font software. The corresponding package contains the files for that tier. The font software remains the foundry’s property.
Desktop
The draft Desktop licence covers up to 3 users within one organization. It includes print, packaging, posters, merchandise, logos, and finished static graphics. It delivers OTF and TTF files.
Web
The draft Web licence covers self-hosted @font-face use on up to 3 production domains owned or controlled by the licensee, with unlimited pageviews. It delivers WOFF2 and example CSS.
Desktop and Web
Both sets of rights and files, under the same user and domain limits.
Extended use
App/game embedding, broadcast, e-publications, and larger organizational uses require scope review. The exact threshold for a larger organization remains a legal decision.
Files stay with the licensee
The draft prohibits redistributing, reselling, sublicensing, converting, or modifying the font files. Private backups are allowed. Any use outside the written grant requires an agreement.
Trials
Trial builds are for non-commercial evaluation and internal mockups. They are not licensed for published work, client production, or redistribution.
The free font
Alive Marker has a separate free-font licence. The proposed scope includes personal and commercial desktop use and self-hosted web use. Its final seat and domain limits are still to be decided. Redistribution and resale of the font files are excluded.
Orders, delivery, and updates
The intended merchant of record is Polar. Prices are displayed in USD; applicable tax is handled in checkout. Buyers receive the files for the selected licence and recover them through the customer portal. Version 1.x updates are included in the draft terms. Keep a backup of your files.
Final terms before launch
Governing law, legal identity wording, support details, the organization-size rule, and the free-font limits still require approval. The EULA version attached to a final purchase will control that licence.
